Governor: All foreign car makers eye returning after sanctions ease

ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 17 (PRIME) -- All foreign car producers have privately said they would return to Russia after the sanctions ease, Governor of the car-producing Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on Friday.

"All car makers, I am speaking about the Western firms, have declared the desire to return to the Russian market, relaunch the plants as soon as the sanctions are eased," the official said.

He said that the companies disclosed their plans to the Russian partners.
